Over 300 entrepreneurs receive loan cheques worth Rs.515 crore
VARANASI, July 25 -- District magistrate Satyendra Kumar on Friday handed over loan cheques worth Rs.515 crore to entrepreneurs during an outreach programme organised by Union Bank of India, the district's lead bank, at the Rudraksh Convention Centre in Sigra.
Sanction letters and cheques were distributed to more than 300 beneficiaries during the programme. The maximum loan amount available to an entrepreneur is Rs.100 crore.
The district magistrate attended the event as the chief guest. The participants included Anupam Deva, national secretary of the Indian Industries Association; zonal and regional heads of various banks; Nidhi Kumar, convener of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC), Lucknow; Sonika Rana of NABARD; Rajesh Chaudhary, assistant director, MSME, ministry of finance, government of India; representatives from Jan Samarth and NCGTC; and more than 500 entrepreneurs.
Kumar called for loans worth more than Rs.2,000 crore to be disbursed under the scheme. He advised entrepreneurs to expand their businesses through innovative practices and praised the initiative taken by Union Bank of India, the lead bank.htc...
