Organise programmes in mission mode on death anniv of Ambedkar: Maya to leaders, workers
LUCKNOW, Nov. 12 -- Following the show of strength in a rally organised last month to pay tribute to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram, party president Mayawati on Tuesday called upon leaders and workers to organise programmes across Uttar Pradesh in mission mode to mark the death anniversary of Bhimrao Ambedkar on December 6.
Reviewing the functioning of the party organisation in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh in a meeting at the party office in Delhi, Mayawati condemned the Delhi blast and expressed grief over the fatalities. She urged the government to ensure adequate measures to protect people and their property.
Slamming the central government over the increase in poverty and unemployment, she alleged that people belonging to weaker sections are being harassed as "they have to migrate in search of petty jobs."
"The central and state governments are not serious about addressing the problems faced by the weaker sections but are indulging selfish politics," she alleged.
The BSP chief claimed that farmers and youth are feeling cheated. "To divert their attention, the government is indulging in communal and casteist agendas," she added.
Mayawati called upon the SC/ST communities to work to grab the master key to power to be able to get the benefits of welfare schemes and rights enshrined in the Constitution....
