Lucknow, June 12 -- The Meteorological Department on Thursday issued an Orange Alert for Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain and hailstorms till June 15. The department has forecast widespread rain across western UP and several parts of eastern UP on June 12 and 13. From June 14, weather conditions are expected to gradually become drier in Lucknow and eastern UP, though rain may continue in parts of western UP. Bareilly recorded 2.4 mm rainfall on Thursday, while Jhansi and Najibabad received 1 mm each. Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4degC and a minimum of 25degC. Gusty winds of 50-60 kmph, reaching up to 70 kmph at isolated places, are also likely.
