Lucknow, Aug. 1 -- State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and former deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Friday strongly condemned the Opposition protest in Parliament complex regarding the alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple. "This is not just political opposition. It is a grave insult to India's Sanatan culture, to revered seers and priests, and to the faith of crores of devotees of Lord Ram," Chaudhary said. "To ridicule religious symbols, traditions and beliefs in such a sacred place is extremely unfortunate and condemnable," said Chaudhary, who is also the Union minister of state for finance. The UP BJP President alleged that the Congress and its allies have consistently displayed an anti-Sanatan mindset. "I am confident that India's aware citizens will give a befitting democratic reply to such acts and will stand firmly for national interest, culture and democratic values," he said. In a statement, Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma said the Congress, Samajwadi Party and other Opposition parties are filled with hatred for Sanatan Dharma. "The mask of those doing drama in the name of devotion to Lord Ram has come off," he said. He termed the conduct of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress as irresponsible. "They are creating disruptions in Parliament. The time meant for discussion on issues concerning the people is being used only to gain publicity," Sharma said. Sharma said an investigation is underway into the administrative lapse at the temple. "The government will punish those who play with people's faith, and will give them the strictest punishment. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has already said this," he added....
