Only 20% flats booked in over two months
LUCKNOW, April 18 -- Two months since its launch, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has secured only around 20% registrations for its upcoming premium Aishbagh Square housing project.
Senior LDA officials said the authority has received just 88 applications against the total 384 flats offered under the scheme, reflecting a sluggish response from buyers. The project, launched in January, has failed to get the expected demand despite being positioned as a premium development.
On April 15, Prathamesh Kumar, vice chairman, LDA, approved a fresh 15-day extension to encourage more applicants. Earlier, on March 16, the authority had already extended the registration deadline till April 15 following requests from the public. Officials indicated that repeated extensions underline weak market interest.
Officials also acknowledged that the project has not matched the popularity of schemes in Gomti Nagar Extension, which continue to attract significantly higher registrations. "Location plays a key role in buyer preference, and projects in established areas tend to perform better," an official said.
Residents echoed similar concerns. Rishi Bajpaye, a resident of Gomti Nagar Extension, said the authority cannot expect uniform response across all locations. htc...
