LUCKNOW, Feb. 14 -- Officials of Amausi zone have come under scrutiny after delays were reported in providing time-bound electricity connections to consumers. As many as 647 connections are pending in the area. Madhyanchal MD expressed displeasure over the negligence of departmental staff, particularly in rural areas of the zone. Despite applications being submitted through the Jhatpat portal, many consumers have not received connections within the stipulated time frame. According to data received on February 10, a large number of connections remain pending: 167 in Dubagga, 152 in Mohanlalganj, and 183 in Nadarganj. Similarly, 43 connections are pending in Malihabad, 14 in Alambagh, 58 in Kanpur road area and 30 in Vrindavan. The issue has highlighted alleged negligence at the division level. Under the vertical system, one technician (grade-2) has been assigned responsibility of submitting technical reports for new connections. However, delays continue to persist. In Mohanlalganj, affected consumers submitted complaints during Tehsil Diwas, accusing staff members of negligence. Responding to the issue, LESA (Amausi zone) chief engineer Mahfooz Alam stated that the matter has been taken into notice.
