Obra Thermal Stn celebrates R-Day; CGM stresses energy conservation, environment
Varanasi, Jan. 28 -- The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Obra Thermal Power Project on Monday. On this occasion, the chief general manager of Obra Thermal Power Station, RK Agrawal, hoisted the National Flag at 8:30 am and addressed the gathering.
While addressing the assembled audience, RK Agrawal extended warm greetings on the occasion of Republic Day. He stated that the Constitution has enshrined a system of governance based on democracy, equality, secularism and the rule of law, which emphasises planned development for establishing a socialist pattern of society.
He further stated that the Constitution came into force on this very day in 1950, making India a democratic republic.
He emphasised the responsibility to utilise and conserve energy resources judiciously. Our objective is to ensure affordable and stable power supply not only for the present but also for future generations. He stated that energy plays a vital role, and in this context, the contribution of thermal power projects is highly significant.
He added that the project is working with innovation and advanced technology to not only excel in power generation but also to provide the best services to the nation, especially during emergency situations. He also pointed out that in the present scenario, there are several serious challenges such as pollution, climate change, and wildlife conservation, which require serious consideration.
