LUCKNOW, May 10 -- The Oudh Bar Association (OBA) of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has demanded the state government to increase the fees and retainerships of government lawyers working in the high court. In a memorandum sent to the CM on May 7, the OBA said Oudh Bar lawyers as advocates for the UP government diligently represent the state government in cases and receive remuneration (fees) and retainership. Lalit Kishore Tiwari, general secretary, OBA, stated that there has been no increase in the fees of government lawyers since 2016. Considering this, an increase in the fees and retainerships of government lawyers is absolutely necessary, he said. In light of this, the letter urges the government to take cognizance of the issue.
