Meerut, July 15 -- In a significant development in the high-profile triple murder case that shook Khurja town earlier this year, police have invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against the main accused, Saurabh Saini alias Seetu, to prevent his release on bail. Officials said the stringent preventive detention law was imposed after the accused was found to be making repeated efforts to secure bail despite the gravity of the offence. The case pertains to the night of April 25-26, when a burst of indiscriminate firing on Subhash Road in the Khurja Nagar police station area left three young men dead. According to police, Saurabh Saini, a resident of Subhash Road, is currently lodged in Bulandshahr District Jail and has been making continuous attempts to obtain bail. Citing the seriousness of the crime and the potential threat posed by his release, Khurja Nagar police initiated action under Section 3(2) of the National Security Act on July 12, 2026. Officials confirmed that the NSA detention notice has been formally served to the accused inside the district jail, ensuring that he remains in preventive custody even if he secures bail in the criminal case. Authorities stated that once the necessary legal formalities are completed, similar action will be taken against the other accused to prevent their release and maintain public order....
