No pressure on any ai-171 crash victim to accept compensation: AI
Ahmedabad, June 11 -- Air India has said there is no deadline or pressure on families of AI-171 victims to accept final compensation, responding to concerns raised by the daughter of former Gujarat chief minister Vijaybhai Rupani over settlement terms.
In a written response seen by HT, the airline stated that families are "entirely free" to wait for the final investigation report before signing any Receipt, Discharge and Indemnity (RDI) document. It said the probe is being conducted independently by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and Air India is therefore not aware of when the report will be released.
The response comes after Radhika Mishra, Rupani's daughter, wrote to Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran on June 6, 2026, raising concerns over the terms of settlement and the timing of the compensation process....
