LUCKNOW, Sept. 21 -- The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is yet to reach a consensus on the appointment of its official spokesperson, with the decision deferred at its September 2 meeting. The issue is expected to come up again at the Trust's December 2 meeting, where a final decision is likely, sources said. In informal meetings, Trust general secretary Govind Dev Giri has been trying to build a consensus among members on the appointment. However, no final decision has been reached, sources said. According to Giri, the spokesperson should be someone well-versed with the entire journey of the Ram temple movement, from its inception to the construction. He said the person should also have authentic knowledge of temple-related issues and the ability to present information properly. According to sources, the name of an office-bearer associated with the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) was recommended by two senior Trust office-bearers for the post. However, other members did not fully agreed to the name, resulting in the selection being deferred at the September 2 meeting. An Ayodhya-based VHP leader, who has been associated with the Ram temple movement, was initially considered a frontrunner for the post.
