Nine senior IPS officers get new responsibilities
LUCKNOW, May 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday assigned key responsibilities to nine senior IPS officers involving four DG-rank officers, four ADG-rank officers and one IG-rank officer.
The changes will impact several critical wings of the state police establishment, including the EOW, CID, home guards, cyber crime, PAC headquarters, UP-112, crime branch and major zonal commands.
Under the new postings, Jai Narayan Singh has been entrusted with the charge of DG, EOW, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
Dhruv Kant Thakur has been given the responsibility of DG and commandant general, home guards, UP. He will also continue to hold the additional charge of DG, civil defence. Binod Kumar Singh has been assigned the additional responsibility of DG, UP-112, while continuing to head CID and cybercrime as DG.
Alok Singh has been appointed as DG, PAC headquarters, UP. He has also been given the additional charge of the Special Security Force. Anupam Kulshreshtha has been given charge as ADG Kanpur zone.
