Nine IPS officers shifted in UP police reshuffle
Lucknow, Aug. 21 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday transferred nine IPS officers, including seven district police chiefs, in a major reshuffle on Thursday night.
The transfers affect police districts including Sultanpur, Gonda, Meerut, Jhansi, Bijnor, Balrampur and Sambhal, besides changes at UP-112 and Police Headquarters.
As part of the changes, Vineet Jaiswal, an IPS officer of the 2014 batch, has been transferred from Gonda and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Sultanpur. His place at Gonda will be taken by Abhishek, a 2015-batch IPS officer who was serving as SP, Bijnor.
Charu Nigam, also a 2014-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Sultanpur and posted as SP, UP-112, Lucknow.
Avinash Pandey, a 2015-batch IPS officer serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Meerut, has been attached to the Police Headquarters in Lucknow as SP.
B.B.G.T.S. Murthy, a 2015-batch IPS officer and SSP, Jhansi, has been transferred as SSP, Meerut. He will be replaced in Jhansi by Vikas Kumar, a 2017-batch IPS officer serving as SP, Balrampur.
Krishna Kumar, a 2018-batch IPS officer and SP, Sambhal, has been transferred as SP, Bijnor. Vikas Chandra Tripathi, an SPS-to-IPS officer serving as SP/Additional SP, Barabanki, has been posted as SP, Sambhal.
