nihangS RETURN TO himachal AFTER standoff
Dehradun, June 27 -- A standoff between a group of Nihang Sikhs and the Uttarakhand administration at the state border in Kulhal ended late on Thursday after the group, which tried to march to Karnaprayag seeking the release of four Nihangs arrested over the June 16 clash in the district, returned to Himachal Pradesh's Paonta Sahib early on Friday after negotiations, officials said.
Dehradun SSP Pramendra Dobhal said heavy security was deployed near Kulhal border.
"A large number of the sangat's members accepted our request and agreed to return to Paonta Sahib. Some others reached Race Course, where after discussions with me and the DM, they also agreed to return," he said. Meanwhile, police said they registered an FIR against unidentified Nihangs under various provisions of the BNS over the alleged clash with police. htc...
