Newborn dies after allegedly falling at Lko's Lok Bandhu Hosp
LUCKNOW, July 7 -- A newborn died after allegedly falling to the floor during delivery at Lok Bandhu Raj Narain (LBRN) Hospital in Ashiana area on Monday, triggering protests by the infant's family, who accused doctors and labour ward staff of negligence.
Hospital authorities informed the police, ordered a probe, and sent the infant's body for a post-mortem examination.
According to the family, Shubham Pal, had admitted his wife, Kirti Pal, to the hospital on Sunday evening after she went into labour. Shubham alleged that no senior gynaecologist was present and that attendants were attempting to conduct a normal delivery. He claimed that despite repeated requests to call a senior doctor, the staff continued with the delivery. According to the family's complaint, the newborn slipped and fell to the floor immediately after birth, leading to the infant's death.
Deputy CM, Brajesh Pathak took cognizance of the incident, said, "I have directed the Director General of Medical and Health Services to investigate the incident, take action against those responsible, and submit a report within 24 hours." htc...
