LUCKNOW, May 18 -- In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience during the busy travel season, the North Eastern Railway (NER) has opened a new passenger waiting hall at Lucknow Junction railway station, which is available free of cost. Railway officials said the facility was set up on Platform No. 6. "The waiting hall has a seating capacity of around 70 people and is equipped with basic passenger amenities including seating arrangements, toilets, mobile charging points, fans and tables," said Gaurav Agarwal, DRM NER Lucknow Division. Officials said the facility was introduced to reduce inconvenience faced by passengers during long waiting hours and rush periods. The temporary hall is expected to particularly benefit passengers waiting for delayed trains. NER Lucknow PRO Mahesh Gupta said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve passenger facilities and ease crowd management at Lucknow Junction, one of the region's busiest railway stations. Passengers at the station welcomed the move, saying additional seating and charging facilities would provide relief during summer travel rush. htc...
