NER GM highlights infra push, new trains in 2025-26
GORAKHPUR, April 3 -- General manager of North Eastern Railway (NER), Uday Borwankar, on Thursday highlighted significant infrastructure expansion, the launch of new trains, ongoing redevelopment initiatives, and a strong safety record during the financial year 2025-26, while addressing a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
He said that several new line and doubling projects are being executed to strengthen connectivity across eastern UP and adjoining regions.
Another major project is the 240-km Khalilabad-Bansi line via Dumariyaganj, Shravasti, and Bahraich, approved at Rs.4,939.78 crore. Emphasising safety, Borwankar said that 12 road overbridges and 43 subways were constructed, 282 km of fencing was installed, and electronic interlocking systems were commissioned at 18 stations. htc...
