Nephew of Baghel's PA arrested in CGSPC case
Raipur, Sept. 3 -- Utkarsh Chandrakar, the nephew of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel's PA KK Chandrakar, has been arrested in connection with alleged irregularities, question-paper leaks and corruption in examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the agency said Utkarsh was arrested on Tuesday under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, after its investigation allegedly established his involvement in activities connected with the proceeds of crime. It added that searches were conducted at five locations in Chhattisgarh as part of its money laundering investigation into the CGPSC exam irregularities. According to the agency, its investigation found that CGPSC examination question papers were allegedly leaked in 2020 and 2021 to relatives of accused persons and selected candidates through private brokers in exchange for illegal gratification. The ED said proceeds of crime of more than Rs.3 crore collected in cash by Utkarsh and Dr Vikash Chandrakar from job aspirants....
