LUCKNOW, March 25 -- Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation chairman suspended former Amausi zone chief engineer Mehfooz Alam on charges of negligence, arbitrariness and failure in duties. He has been attached to the headquarters of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam in Agra, while a high-level inquiry has been ordered against him. The action was approved by UPPCL chairman Ashish Kumar Goel following mounting scrutiny over multiple lapses during Alam's tenure in Amausi as chief engineer. The suspension comes amid renewed attention on the electrocution of eight-year-old Arpit Pal in Senani Vihar, who lost both his hands in the incident. htc...
