Lucknow, Aug. 30 -- Several programmes were organised by educational institutions here to mark National Sports Day on Friday. At Kunskapsskolan School, a sports-themed fashion show named 'Athleisure Icons' was held. The evening commenced with an opening act by pre-primary students, who enthralled the audience with their spirited dance on songs 'Chak De India' and 'Jai Ho'. Themed segments such as Power Play, Court Classics, Fusion, Legends of the Field, and Racket Runway added vibrancy and variety to the spectacle. Aditya Rana, a national volleyball athlete and decorated champion at the U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels was the chief guest. Badminton, chess and carrom contests were organised by engineering and technology faculty members of Lucknow University and Athletic Association. Officiating vice chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna and dean of Engineering and Technology Prof. A.K. Singh were present on the occasion. At AKTU, teachers, officers and employees participated in sports contests held as part of the convocation week and National Sports Day celebrations. Vice-chancellor Prof. JP Pandey and controller of examinations Prof. Deepak Nagariya were present on the occasion. At BBAU, a health camp was organised in coordination with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and the university's health centre. On the occasion, chief medical officer Dr. (Major) Vikas Srivastava, BBAU medical officer Dr. Harshita Singh, Dr. Rohan from Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and paramedical staff were present. During the camp, about 100 people were screened for hypertension. Several sports competitions were organised at Khwaja Muinuddin Chishti Language University in the presence of vice-chancellor Prof. Ajay Taneja. Similarly, Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University too marked the day by taking 'Fit India' pledge, which was followed by cricket, football and badminton contests....
