Murder case registered after 8 months in suspicious death of youth
PRAYAGRAJ, June 14 -- Nearly eight months after the suspicious death of a youth in Saidpur Durgapur village, under the Pipri police station limits in Prayagraj, a murder case has been registered following a court order. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Krishna Prasad, a resident of Saidpur Durgapur, had filed a petition in the court alleging that his 19-year-old son, Sandeep Nishad, was murdered on November 3, 2025. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly hanged the body from a tree using a gamchha (traditional cloth) in an attempt to portray the incident as a suicide.
Acting on the court's directive, Pipri police registered a murder case against Ravi, a resident of the same village, along with some unidentified individuals. Station officer (SO) Vikas Singh stated that the matter appears old but suspicious in nature. He added that additional sections may be invoked depending on the investigation's findings. Police said a detailed probe is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
A 40-year-old man was shot late Friday night in Shahapur (Peepalgaon area) of Prayagraj following a dispute over a financial transaction. The injured man has been admitted to SRN Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
According to Airport Police, the victim, Amit Kumar Shukla, a resident of Shahapur, allegedly borrowed Rs 90,000 from Gendalal Yadav, who also resides in the same locality. A dispute had been ongoing between the two over the repayment of the loan.
Station house officer (SHO) Rajesh Upadhyay confirmed the incident and stated that a search operation is underway to apprehend the accused. Further investigation into the case is in progress....
