Lucknow, May 13 -- Train services through Charbagh Railway Station will be affected for more than a month due to the concourse construction work being undertaken by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), Northern Railway, officials said on Tuesday. According to railway authorities, platforms number 3 and 4 will remain blocked at Lucknow station from May 15 to June 23 for the work, leading to short termination, short origination and route diversion of several passenger and express trains. Among the affected local services, train number 64701 Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi-Lucknow MEMU will short terminate at Kanpur Central during the period, while the return service, 64702 Lucknow-Jhansi MEMU, will originate from Kanpur Central instead of Lucknow. Similarly, Shahjahanpur-Lucknow and Balamau-Lucknow passenger trains will terminate at Alamnagar station, while their return services will originate from there. "Railways have also diverted several long-distance trains that usually pass through the Barabanki-Lucknow-Kanpur Central section. These trains will now run via Malhaur and Aishbagh, skipping Lucknow during the period," said Samarth Gupta, senior divisional commercial manager, NR, Lko division. The diverted trains include Muzaffarpur-Surat Express, Guwahati-Okha Express, Kamakhya-Gandhidham Express, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur Express, Panvel-Gorakhpur Express, Pune-Gorakhpur Express and Bhavnagar Terminus-Ayodhya Cantt Express. Officials said these trains will instead halt at Aishbagh and Badshahnagar stations during the diversion period....
