MNNIT to launch BTech in AI and Data Science from 2026-27 session
PRAYAGRAJ, April 15 -- Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj (MNNIT)-Allahabad will start a new undergraduate programme focussing on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science starting from the academic session 2026-27.
The four-year course, titled BTech in Mathematics and Scientific Computing, will be offered through the institute's Mathematics Department for the first time at the undergraduate level.
The programme is designed to align with the growing demand from industry for skills in emerging technologies. It will cover key areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematical Modelling, Machine Learning, Advanced Computing, and Scientific Computing.
The curriculum will also include hands-on and project-based modules, enabling students to work on real-world problem-solving and practical applications, informed institute officials.
According to MNNIT registrar Ambak Rai, the institute has allocated 30 seats for the new course. Admissions will be conducted based on JEE Advanced scores, ensuring entry of highly qualified candidates into the programme, he added.
The initiative reflects MNNIT's focus on strengthening interdisciplinary education and preparing students for careers in high-demand sectors such as AI, data analytics, and high-performance computing. The institute believes that the programme will significantly enhance employability and research opportunities for students in both industry and academic domains, he shared.
