Miscreants torch car of CRPF inspector, police launch hunt for accused
PRAYAGRAJ, March 6 -- Tension prevailed in the Tharwai area of Prayagraj on Wednesday after unidentified miscreants set fire to the car of a CRPF Inspector, who is the brother of an ITBP Deputy Commandant.
By the time the fire brigade reached the spot, the vehicle had been completely gutted. Police lodged a case and launched a hunt for the miscreants.
According to police, Ajay Nath Gehlot serves as an inspector in the CRPF and is posted in Pulwama, Srinagar. About three months ago, he started living with his wife Sanyogita Gehlot and children at 40 Gomti Kodsar Road in Prayagraj.
At around 12.30 am some miscreants set the car, parked behind the house, on fire. Seeing the flames, family members of the CRPF inspector and neighbours rushed to douse them but failed. However, by the time the fire brigade arrived, the car was completely burnt.
The ACP (Tharwai) reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. He ordered immediate arrest of the accused. Police are scanning CCTV footage of the area and questioning locals to trace the culprits....
