VARANASI, March 11 -- A body kept for post-mortem at Mirzapur divisional hospital was partly nibbled by rats, prompting the chief medical superintendent, Dr Sachin Kishore, to issue notices to an on-duty health worker and order an inquiry. The body of a 26-year-old man who allegedly died by suicide was kept on the mortuary floor as the freezer was reportedly not working. Doctors later found rats had gnawed the hands and waist.
