LUCKNOW, Nov. 6 -- A 16-year-old girl was crushed to death after a plywood-laden e-rickshaw overturned on Faizabad Road on Wednesday afternoon, bringing the safety of the city's three-wheelers carrying passengers and goods into focus amid repeated concerns raised by the Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court over their regulation. As per police details, the incident took place around 4.30pm in front of Adarsh Dhaba. The victim, Priyanka, a resident of Semra in Chinhat, was travelling towards Kamta with her sister Nisha in an e-rickshaw, which was carrying plywood sheets. According to police, the vehicle suddenly lost balance and overturned. As the plywood began sliding off, Priyanka tried to escape but the sheets fell on her, killing her on the spot.
