LUCKNOW, Oct. 11 -- Urban development and energy minister AK Sharma on Saturday inspected flood-hit Faizullaganj in Lucknow, met affected families and distributed relief materials, directing officials to ensure uninterrupted supplies of food, drinking water, medicines and other essentials. He instructed officials to provide immediate assistance, monitor the situation continuously and ensure there was no negligence in relief and rescue operations. Sharma also inspected relief camps and reviewed medical facilities. He directed the health department to ensure adequate medicines and healthcare services, while asking officials to maintain hygiene and prevent waterborne diseases in waterlogged areas.
