Masked men rain bullets outside Meerut trader's house
Meerut, Oct. 10 -- Five masked men riding two motorcycles opened fire outside a garment trader's house in D-Block of the Brahmpuri police station area on Thursday night, allegedly over a financial dispute. The assailants fired several rounds at the house before fleeing the spot. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Family members were inside the house when the firing took place, triggering panic among residents of the locality. The incident was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, and police have launched a search for the accused. Danish, a garment trader and resident of D-Block on Lisari Road, said his brother Suhail had an argument with a man named Anas on Thursday morning over a financial transaction. According to the information available, five masked men subsequently arrived at Suhail's house on Thursday night, allegedly to settle scores over the dispute.The assailants targeted the house and fired several rounds before fleeing. Suhail was reportedly not present at home at the time of the incident. Danish informed the Brahmpuri police about the firing. A police team reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident. Officers inspected the scene and recovered empty cartridge cases. They also collected CCTV footage from cameras installed in the surrounding area to identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events. City superintendent of police Vinayak Gopal Bhosale reached the spot with a large police contingent and inspected the scene. He also sought details from the officers investigating the case.
