Man slits former wife's throat forremarrying, arrested: Police
LUCKNOW, Sept. 19 -- A 40-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly killing his former wife by slitting her throat in Kakori's Gohramau area.
The woman, Prema Devi, had married another man after ending her marriage with the accused, Raju Yadav, police said.
According to police officials, Prema's body was found near a canal on Thursday morning. Her second husband, Pradeep Yadav, subsequently lodged a complaint alleging that her former husband had killed her. A case was registered at Kakori police station and two teams were formed to investigate the case.
Yadav was arrested in Gulariyakheda village on Friday, while Prema's son was also taken into custody for questioning.
During interrogation, Yadav allegedly told police that he was angry with Prema for ending their relationship and tying the knot with Pradeep.
Police said Yadav allegedly got his son to call Prema and summon her to an orchard near the Dupula canal embankment. He and his son overpowered her and Yadav allegedly attacked her with a sharp knife, killing her on the spot.
According to police, the weapon used in the crime was recovered. The case has been amended to include Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 4/25 of the Arms Act....
