AGRA, Oct. 8 -- A man died by shooting himself on Wednesday afternoon after allegedly shooting and injuring a woman near Aspire Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station. The woman survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment in stable condition, said police officials. The deceased, a resident of Agra's Malpura area, worked at a local toll plaza. According to the police, the incident was reported around 2:00 pm. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the woman alive but injured, and the man deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. "On reaching the spot near Aspire Colony, a girl was found injured but alive, and a man was found dead," said deputy commissioner of police (city) Syed Ali Abbas. "The injured woman was rushed to the hospital and is currently stable". Investigations revealed that the woman had filed an FIR against the man approximately one year ago; however, the case was closed after she retracted her allegations during court proceedings.
