Man living in NZ held for minor's sexual assault
BIKANER, July 11 -- A 25-year-old man, who has been living in New Zealand on permanent residency for the past two years, was arrested in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district and remanded to judicial custody in connection with the alleged trafficking and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl, police said on Friday, adding the 20 people have been arrested in the case so far and several others are absconding.
ASP Dipak Kumar Sharma said the accused, Aman Deep,had returned to India about six weeks ago for his wedding scheduled on July 14. He was arrested on July 8 after investigators found evidence of his alleged involvement in the case. A local court remanded him to judicial custody on Thursday.
"Three others arrested on July 5 were also remanded to judicial custody on Thursday and an identification parade of all four accused will be conducted inside the jail," Kailashdan Detha, head of the Women Crime Research Cell, said.
