Man kills father in Ballia over property dispute
VARANASI, Feb. 15 -- A 29-year-old man allegedly killed his 48-year-old father and injured his two younger brothers during a dispute over property in Ballia district, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place in Bhagwanpur village under Dokati police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Lalji Yadav ,48. The accused is his son, Mukesh Yadav ,29. The injured are Rakesh Kumar Yadav ,20, and Govind Yadav ,18.
Additional superintendent of police, Ballia, Kripa Shankar, said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and the accused has been arrested. According to police, the initial inquiry revealed that there was a dispute over division of family property. During the argument, an altercation took place between Lalji Yadav and Mukesh. Enraged over the issue, Mukesh allegedly attacked his father and two brothers with a knife.
All three were injured and were taken to hospital by family members. Lalji Yadav was declared dead by doctors. His two sons are undergoing treatment. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is under way....
