LUCKNOW, July 11 -- Rahimabad police arrested a 34-year-old man on Friday, within six hours of him allegedly abducting and assaulting a four-year-old girl from her home in village Umraval. "The accused, identified as Amit, who also uses the aliases Rajnish and Krishna, was apprehended near a roadside pond in the village following an intensive search operation," said station house officer (SHO) of Rahimabad Arun Kumar Trigunayak. "The minor girl was safely recovered, and a medical examination is being conducted," the SHO added. The incident came to light after a written complaint was filed by the mother of the girl at the Rahimabad police station on Thursday morning, alleging that the accused had lured her daughter away on July 9. Following the registration of FIR, police teams were immediately mobilised, conducting night patrols and leveraging local informant networks to locate the suspect. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the POCSO Act, and the SC/ST Act. He is being produced before a local court, police said. Police investigations have revealed that Amit is a habitual offender with at least eight prior cases registered against him since 2014 at the Mal and Rahimabad police stations.htc...
