VARANASI, May 22 -- Dissatisfied with the measurement of land, a 30-year-old man on Thursday climbed a mobile tower in Udarejpur village under the Baksha police station area of Jaunpur district on Thursday. He died after falling while getting off.
He was identified as 30-year-old Shriprakash Yadav, elder son of Rajaram, who had a land-related dispute with his neighbours for about 10 years. The measurement of his father's land was done in 2016 and in 2019. Sriprakash was not satisfied with this measurement.
On being informed, police station in-charge Virendra Kumar reached the spot. He informed the officers about it. SDM, Sadar, Santveer, CO, Sadar, Devesh Singh, and a team of revenue officials reached the spot with the fire brigade.
The officers tried to convince Shriprakash to come down the tower, but he did not agree. Finally, the SDM ordered immediate re-measurement under the leadership of the tehsildar. By then, seven hours passed. Then only Sriprakash stated getting off the tower. While coming down, he fell from the tower at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The police took him to the district hospital, Jaunpur, where doctors declared him dead.
