Man duped of Rs.8.70 Lakh in fake Singapore job scam
Prayagraj, June 22 -- A resident of Sulemsarai was allegedly cheated of Rs.8.70 lakh by cyber fraudsters who promised him a job in Singapore. Dhoomanganj police have registered an FIR and started an investigation.
According to the complaint, Mohammad Tariq was contacted by unidentified persons claiming to be recruiters associated with the academy of medicine, Singapore. They allegedly asked him to deposit money in different bank accounts for processing charges and other recruitment formalities.
Tariq claimed that he transferred a total of Rs.8.70 lakh. He later became suspicious after receiving an agreement letter that appeared to be fake. After examining the document, he realised that he had been cheated and immediately lodged a complaint through the national cybercrime helpline, 1930. Dhoomanganj SHO Dhananjay Pandey said a case has been registered and an investigation is being carried out with the assistance of the cyber cell to trace those involved in the fraud....
