PRAYAGRAJ, May 1 -- A 46-year-old man in Prayagraj died by suicide on Wednesday evening after jumping into the Yamuna River from the New Yamuna Bridge. Family members said he had been battling mental health issues. The deceased left his home around 5 pm and later jumped from the bridge. Personnel from the Water Police and the PAC, who were on duty at the spot, recovered his body soon after. As the body could not be identified immediately, Kydganj police sent it to the post-mortem house and registered it as an unidentified case. Meanwhile, the deceased's family, who had been searching for him, came across a video circulating on social media showing a man being pulled out of the river.
