PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 9 -- A 41-year-old man climbed a mobile tower in the Sangramgarh area of Pratapgarh on Thursday morning, alleging repeated complaints about the lack of proper housing and an access road that allegedly remained unresolved. He came down after officials assured him that his grievances would be resolved. Ashok Kumar Saroj, a resident of Kota Bhawaniganj under Sangramgarh police station in Pratapgarh, lives with his differently-abled wife and two daughters in a makeshift shelter covered with polythene sheets after his mud house collapsed. Around 10 am, Ashok climbed a mobile tower in a field near the village, drawing a crowd. Lakhpeda outpost in-charge Munna Yadav reached the spot and spoke to him. Ashok said his family lacked a proper house and an access road, adding to their difficulties. Kunda SDM Ajay Kumar Yadav later reached the spot. Tension mounted after he instructed police to send Ashok to jail, prompting villagers to object. They said that Ashok's grievances were genuine and urged the officials to first inspect his living conditions....
