LUCKNOW, April 14 -- A dramatic scene unfolded outside the civil court in Lucknow on Monday morning when a man climbed a mobile phone tower near gate no. 2, threatened to jump and refused to come down for over an hour even as his wife instigated him to continue with his extreme act, police said, adding both were arrested for creating nuisance. "During preliminary inquiry, police found that the man had a history of similar behaviour. He had earlier climbed towers in 2023 and 2024, including in a VVIP zone, raising concerns over repeated public disruption," said SHO Wazirganj RK Tripathi but the reason for the act is yet to be ascertained. Police in their official statement said the man, identified as a resident of Aligarh, scaled the tower and began shouting, allegedly using abusive language against officials and demanding that senior administrative officers be called to the spot.
