LUCKNOW, Sept. 1 -- A 30-year-old man climbed a tower outside Darulshafa in Hazratganj on Monday, prompting a police response, following which he was brought down after sustained efforts by the police. According to a statement by Hazratganj police, they received information about the man climbing the tower on August 31 and immediately sent a team to the spot. Police personnel managed to convince him to descend safely. Around two litres of petrol were also recovered from his possession. "The man was identified as Ankur Singh, son of Ramkaran Singh, a resident of Rampur Janak village and posted under Baba Bazar police station in Ayodhya district," said SHO Hazratganj Vikram Singh. "During preliminary questioning, Singh told the police that he was being harassed by relatives over a land-related dispute," a statement added.
