Bikaner, June 24 -- Police booked a man for tying up and raping his 13-year-old neighbour in a village under Khajuwala police station limits in Bikaner district, officers said on Tuesday. The accused remained absconding after a case was registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said. Khajuwala station house officer (SHO) Surendra Kumar Prajapat said. "The incident came to light after the victim disclosed the alleged assault to her family. The girl's medical examination has been conducted and efforts are underway to arrest the accused." According to the FIR lodged by the victim's mother, the accused allegedly entered the house on June 20, when she had gone out for daily-wage work. He allegedly took the girl into a room, tied her hands and legs, and raped her. The complainant alleged that the accused sexually assaulted the minor twice before fleeing, and threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident. Police said the victim remained silent out of fear and disclosed the alleged assault only after family members noticed a change in her behaviour and repeatedly questioned her. Taking note of the seriousness of the case, Circle Officer Akanksha Choudhary visited the crime scene, inspected the spot, and reviewed the progress of the investigation. "Further investigation into the matter is underway," SHO Kumar added....
