PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 10 -- Police have registered a case against a youth who climbed a mobile tower and allegedly threatened to end his life while demanding a pathway and government housing in Sangramgarh area of Pratapgarh. According to police, Ashok Kumar Saroj, a resident of Kota Bhawaniganj village under Sangramgarh police station limits, climbed the tower on Thursday and threatened suicide. Residents alerted UP-112, following which police personnel reached the spot. However, initial efforts to persuade him to come down were unsuccessful. Later, SDM Ajay Kumar Yadav reached the site and held talks with Ashok. During the interaction, Ashok demanded resolution of an ongoing pathway dispute and allotment of a house under a government housing scheme. After persuasion by SDM, he agreed to descend. Police registered a case against Ashok Kumar Saroj. Officials said he has been accused of creating public disorder and exerting pressure on authorities by threatening suicide. htc...
