Lucknow, Feb. 23 -- Rahimabad police in Lucknow on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old man accused of luring, kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl in case that spans Hardoi and Lucknow districts. The incident came to light on December 10, 2025, when the victim's father, a resident of Kallikheda Jawar village under Sandila police station in Hardoi, filed a written complaint alleging that his daughter had been kidnapped. An FIR was registered at Rahimabad police station under section 137(2) of BNS. "During investigation, evidence revealed that the accused, along with an unidentified accomplice, had committed rape on the minor. Accordingly, sections 70(2) BNS and 5/6 of the POCSO Act were added to the FIR," reads details shared by Rahimabad police in press note.
