MEERUT, April 27 -- A major fire broke out at a factory extracting oil from old tyres in Chandausi, Sambhal district on Sunday, prompting a swift response from the fire department and causing panic in the surrounding locality. Officials said information was immediately relayed to fire services, who promptly dispatched multiple fire tenders to contain the rapidly spreading flames. Firefighters launched intensive efforts to control the situation; and no casualties were reported. Circle officer (fire) Krishna Kant Ojha confirmed that fire brigade teams, including at least five fire tenders, reached the spot without delay and launched coordinated firefighting and rescue operations. Ojha stated that the fire has been brought under control, though efforts are still underway to fully extinguish the remaining flames.
