Maharaja Malih Pasi Dwar damaged, probe underway
LUCKNOW, April 26 -- The police in Malihabad have registered a case after the Maharaja Malih Pasi Swagat Dwar on Mohaan Road was allegedly cut and removed by unidentified persons earlier this week.
Officials said on Saturday that the incident, which surfaced on social media, is under investigation and action will be taken against those involved.
According to a Lucknow police statement, the incident took place in the early hours of April 22. "CCTV footage shows that around 3:14 am, some individuals used a crane or hydra machine to cut the structure and remove it using a pickup or DCM vehicle," the statement added.
"Based on the information received, an FIR under Section 303(2) BNS and Section 2/3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act has been registered at Malihabad police station," said SHO Malihabad Surendra Singh Bhati.
The SHO added that the efforts are underway to identify the accused involved using CCTV footage and other technical evidence. "Investigation is in progress, and necessary legal action will follow once the accused are identified," officials added.
