Lucknow runs for health, fitness and green awareness
India, May 5 -- Lucknow's new Green Corridor was buzzing with excitement during the Green Run hosted by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Sunday.
Promoted as a 3.5-kilometer (5,000 steps) fun race, the event drew over 1,500 participants, all united by the dual goals of boosting personal fitness and promoting environmental awareness.
The race, which stretched between Jhulelal Vatika and the New Daliganj Bridge, saw participants of all ages-from small children to the elderly-registering online and showing up on time.
The event was more than just a run; before the flag-off, the starting point buzzed with energy as participants engaged in fitness activities, including yoga and Zumba.
LDA vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar was among the participants, personally joining the race and taking time to applaud and encourage the crowds. He emphasised that the event was an effective medium for spreading critical messages about environmental protection alongside physical fitness.
The competition was organised into four inclusive categories: 18 to 30 years, 30 to 50 years, 50 years and above, and a popular couple's run, which saw 172 pairs registering their participation. While the top three finishers were awarded prizes, all participants were honoured with medals....
