Lucknow police get CPR-ready
Lucknow, Dec. 15 -- In a first-of-its-kind initiative to strengthen emergency response and save lives, the city police commissionerate has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private hospital to provide cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support (BLS) training to police personnel.
Personnel from all 54 police stations in Lucknow will be given the training in a phased manner.
"A training workshop was organised at the hospital on Sunday to equip police personnel, who are often the first responders at accident sites and during medical emergencies, with critical life-saving skills," said Lucknow police in a statement.
On Sunday, more than 70 police personnel underwent hands-on training on CPR techniques, oxygen saturation monitoring, blood pressure assessment and other basic life support measures.
The hospital's medical experts conducted practical workshops and interactive sessions, enabling participants to practise emergency response techniques in real-time scenarios.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, city police commissioner Amrendra K Sengar praised it and said the training will ensure that police personnel are capable of providing immediate assistance before medical emergency teams arrive....
