Authorities were instructed to ensure the immediate removal of garbage heaps near hospitals, hotels and commercial areas while intensifying efforts to resolve sewage-related complaints and improve field-level monitoring. Directions were also issued to ensure that no visible garbage dumping points remain in any ward of the city. Special focus was placed on increasing citizen participation through mohalla meetings, awareness campaigns and local sanitation committees aimed at encouraging behavioural change and public accountability. Commercial establishments and traders may also be encouraged to make dustbins mandatory as part of the expanded cleanliness campaign. Urban development and energy minister AK Sharma further reviewed citizen feedback mechanisms linked to Swachh Survekshan rankings and stressed the need for a more effective grievance redressal system to improve public satisfaction. Progress of sanitation and infrastructure works in schools under the Kayakalp initiative was also discussed.
