LU students find centre locked, exam begins after delay
LUCKNOW, May 31 -- Several MEd (fourth semester) students appearing for Lucknow University examinations in Sitapur on Saturday were left stranded outside their designated centre, Acharya Narendra Teacher Training Centre College in Sitapur, after arriving to find its gates locked, leading to confusion and a delay in the commencement of the examination.
The examination was scheduled to begin at 8.30am. However, some students and guardians, requesting anonymity, said that the test started 30 to 45 minutes late as the college remained locked and no staff members were present when they arrived.
They said they were anxious and uncertain about whether the examination would be conducted at all.
The students further alleged that the college principal appeared unaware that the institution had been designated as an examination centre. They claimed neither the university nor the college had provided prior information regarding any change in the examination venue.
"We reached here at around 8 am for the examination scheduled to begin at 8.30 am. The gate was locked and we felt helpless, fearing that our entire semester would be affected," said a student. LU spokesperson Prof Mukul Srivastava, however, attributed the delay to a logistical issue. Htc...
