LUCKNOW, Sept. 30 -- Preparations are almost over an action-packed calendar of inter-collegiate and inter-district competitions. Lucknow University's affiliated and associated colleges across all five districts will participate in upcoming events, said Lucknow University Athletic Association (LUAA) general secretary Prof Ajay Arya. "LU has planned a lineup of sports championships to engage students as sportspersons. The traditional team games, combat sports, and court sports are part of the lineup the university is planning. This includes - cricket, kabaddi, basketball, tug of war, volleyball, karate, and taekwondo. These events are structured to provide a platform for students to showcase their prowess," said Arya. He added that the championships will get off the blocks with cricket, October onwards. The tournaments will also include a rigorous selection procedure - specialised tournaments to test endurance and team strategy, culminating in the selection of the final squad.
