LUCKNOW, Aug. 8 -- The Lucknow Smart City Limited (LSCL) board on Friday directed officials to expedite the transfer of the city's Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and Safe City projects to the police department, marking a significant step towards placing technology-driven traffic management and surveillance systems under a single operational agency. The decision was taken during the 27th board meeting of LSCL chaired by divisional commissioner and LSCL chairman Vijay Vishwas Pant. Municipal commissioner and LSCL chief executive officer Gaurav Kumar presented the status of ongoing and completed Smart City projects before the board. "The board has taken note of the three-month extension granted to the agency implementing the ITMS project. Officials have been directed to complete the handover process without any further delay so that the project becomes fully operational at the earliest," said Pant. The board also approved an extension for the city's Health ATM project, allowing SGPGI to continue operating the facilities until December 2026. Officials were directed to launch an awareness campaign to encourage more residents to use the diagnostic services. Health ATMs offer affordable tests, including blood sugar, haemoglobin, ECG, dengue, malaria and urine examinations, while blood pressure, BMI, pulse oximeter and body temperature checks are available free of cost. Reviewing civic infrastructure, the board noted that the urban facilitation centre and senior citizen care centre at Aliganj Sector-B have been transferred to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. The board also approved administrative changes, assigning chief finance and accounts officer Mahamilind Lal additional charge as LSCL's chief finance officer and additional municipal commissioner Pankaj Srivastava additional charge as additional chief executive officer....
